The Sugar Hill Meeting House is a white clapboard New England meeting house in the small hilltop town of Sugar Hill, in the western White Mountains of New Hampshire. Built in the early nineteenth century, it follows the classic pattern of rural meeting houses that once stood at the civic and spiritual heart of northern New England villages. It has long served the community both as a place of worship and as a gathering place for town business and local events. Sugar Hill is known for its sweeping views across open fields toward the Franconia Range, including Mount Lafayette and Cannon Mountain. The meeting house sits amid this landscape of stone walls, old farmsteads, and maple trees, and the setting is especially striking in early summer, when fields of lupine bloom across town, and in autumn, when the surrounding hillsides turn red and gold. The town itself was long part of Lisbon before incorporating separately in 1962, and the meeting house remains one of its most recognizable landmarks. Visitors find a quiet, unhurried place where the simple lines of the building, the crisp mountain air, and the wide horizon capture much of the enduring character of village life in the North Country.
