Herring Gulls are large, white and grey seabirds that are found along the coastlines of Europe and North America. They are known for their distinctive call, which is often described as a loud, raucous laugh. Bass Rock is a small island located off the east coast of Scotland, near the town of North Berwick. It is home to one of the largest colonies of nesting seabirds in Europe, including over 150,000 pairs of Herring Gulls. The Herring Gulls on Bass Rock are known for their aggressive behavior, particularly during the breeding season. They will fiercely defend their nests and chicks from predators and other birds.
