The Great Sphinx and Pyramid of Khafre are two iconic monuments located in Giza, Egypt. The Great Sphinx is a large limestone statue of a mythical creature with the body of a lion and the head of a pharaoh. It is believed to have been built during the reign of Pharaoh Khafre, around 2500 BC. The Pyramid of Khafre is the second largest pyramid in Giza and is believed to have been built as a tomb for Pharaoh Khafre. It stands at a height of 136 meters and is made of limestone blocks that were quarried locally. Both the Great Sphinx and the Pyramid of Khafre are part of the Giza Necropolis, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world. These ancient structures are a testament to the incredible architectural and engineering skills of the ancient Egyptians and continue to fascinate and inspire visitors from around the world.
